Example 1: Order with product from only one category.
- A buyer buys one guitar.
- Original item price: MYR 1000
- Seller discount: MYR 100
- Subtotal after discount: MYR 900
- Guitar's sub-category is Home & Living -> Toys & Hobbies -> Musical Instruments & Accessories; hence, the applicable Marketplace Commission Fee rate is 2.5% (excluding DST).
- The Marketplace Commisison Fee calculation is as follows:

FAQ
- Who will be charged the commission fee?
- All TikTok Shop sellers on TikTok Shop platform in Malaysia.
- What is a "valid order"?
- Valid orders are paid orders that have been successfully delivered to and accepted by the buyer. Cancelled or fully returned or refunded orders are not considered valid orders.
- How will I be charged the commission fee?
- The Marketplace Commission Fee charges will be deducted directly from the order settlement.
- Is the Marketplace Commission Fee already inclusive of tax?
- The Marketplace Commission Fee rate in the aforementioned table is exclusive of 6% DST tax.
- The Marketplace Commission Fee deducted for each order is inclusive of 6% DST tax.
- Is there any exemption from the Marketplace Commission Fee?
Yes. There are two exemptions.
- New sellers on TikTok Shop are exempted from the Marketplace Commission Fee for their first 90 days.
- For products that were successfully bought by customers through the Shopping Center, sellers will enjoy a 0% Marketplace Commission Fee waiver. The policy's details are as follows:
- Applicable Seller: all Sellers.
- Applicable Scenario: if a customer successfully purchases a product through the Shopping Center ("Shop" Tab) within the TikTok app, the respective product for the order is considered as a product waivable from the Marketplace Commission Fee. The product will receive a 0% Marketplace Commission Fee waiver under this Shopping Center 0% waiver policy.
- The policy's effective date: from 10:00, 11th of August, 2023 until further notice
