Additional verification methods are set to help us confirm your identity if we detect any unusual activity on your account. This adds extra security and prevents unauthorised logins.

As such, you may have to verify your identity more than once. For example, after signing in with your account password on a new device, you may be asked to fill in a code sent to your email or phone.

To enhance the security of your account, you're strongly encouraged to set up multiple verification methods. When necessary, we'll be able to verify your identity via more steps and protect confidential data within your account.

Setting up additional verification methods

Here are the methods of verification that you can set up for your Shopee account:

Phone number
Email address
Account password

Shopee App

You can set up or update these methods of verification via My Profile under Account Settings on the Shopee App.

Seller Centre

On Seller Centre, go to the Account page under the Setting section to set up or update your phone number, email address, or login password.

Enabling SMS as an additional verification methods

Additional verification methods for your account include QR codes and one-time passwords (OTPs) sent via email or SMS.

To allow verification OTPs to be sent to you via SMS, enable the Allow SMS as additional account verification method toggle on the Shop Settings page in Seller Centre.

⚠️Note

If you disable the Allow SMS as additional verification method toggle, you will still be asked to verify your identity via other methods such as email or QR code.

Keep your phone number and email address updated on your Shopee account to ensure they can be used as additional verification methods.
