What is the Platform Support Fee on Shopee?
The Platform Support Fee is a service charge introduced to support the continuous development, provision, maintenance, upgrade and enhancement of the Shopee platform to ensure a seamless user experience. This includes exciting new and upcoming features such as the Shopee Seller Centre application, AI-generated content, Shop AI Assistant and various new features that allow sellers to optimise their sales and performance, and enable buyers to shop more easily. This fee is applicable to all successful sales transactions on the Shopee e-commerce platform.
Please note that there are exemptions to the platform support fee. Please see below.

- The Platform Support Fee will only apply to sellers who have either listed their first product for more than 120 days or reached 100 orders, whichever comes first.
How is the Platform Support Fee calculated?
The Platform Support Fee is set at RM0.50 (subject to 8% SST) for each completed order*. This fee is directly deducted from each order before the sales proceeds are transferred to the seller's Shopee account balance.
(*) Completed orders refer to total paid orders that have been delivered to and accepted by the buyer. This excludes cancelled or returned/refunded orders, and orders pending delivery. Total completed orders can be viewed via Order > My Orders > Completed on Seller Centre.
Who is exempted from the Platform Support Fee?
1. New Marketplace sellers with ≤ 100 completed orders and have listed their first product on Shopee for ≤ 120 days. 'New Marketplace sellers' refer to sellers who have opened a new seller shop, who are allocated a unique seller ID and do not have an existing shop(s) or dealings as a seller on the Shopee Malaysia platform. It excludes the following:
- Sellers with existing shops, including shops registered under the same user ID, seller ID, NRIC number, company or business registration number;
- Sellers who have previously enjoyed Shopee Malaysia's new seller Platform Support Fee waiver;
- Sellers who take over control and management of an existing shop on the Shopee Malaysia platform, which include taking over the sold count, reviews or goodwill of the shop; or
- Sellers who operate through the account(s) of an agent, affiliate, proxy and/or related entity.
- Shopee may at its sole discretion assess the eligibility of sellers to enjoy the new Platform Support Fee exemption, including for scenarios not specifically mentioned above. All decisions by Shopee are final.
2. Marketplace orders with at least one essential item within these categories: Breads, Flour, Sugar, Oil, Salt, Rice, Garlic, Ginger & Onion or Poultry. For more information, click here.
- The Platform Support Fee of RM0.50 will initially be deducted from each order upfront. Sellers will then receive a monthly reimbursement into their Seller Balance on the third week of each month.
- Please note that where sellers miscategorise any product or item as an essential item, Shopee may still charge the Platform Support Fee for such miscategorised product or items at its discretion.
3. Marketplace sellers with (i) ≤ 100 net orders in the last 30 days, or (ii) with ≤ 200 net orders AND ≤ RM3,000 GMV in the last 30 days.
- The number of net orders is refreshed on monthly basis on 1st of the month.
- 1 - 30 November: Based on net orders and GMV from 2 October to 31 October
- Sellers who qualify for this exemption will receive a Push Notification (PN) via Seller Centre on the week of 15 July 2025, and the beginning of every month from August 2025 onwards.

- Examples
- Seller A has 99 paid orders and RM6,000 GMV in October 2025. Seller A will not be charged the Platform Support Fee in November 2025
- In November 2025, Seller A has 201 orders and RM2,000 GMV in November 2025. Seller A will be charged the Platform Support Fee in December 2025
4. Sellers who participate in the Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) Programme.
- All FBS orders will be exempted from the Platform Support Fee until the end of December 2025.
- The Platform Support Fee of RM0.50 will initially be deducted from each order upfront. Sellers will then receive a monthly reimbursement into their Seller Balance on the third week of each month.

5. Government books
- Orders with at least one Textbooks & Activity Books under the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) Catalogue will be exempted from Platform Support Fee.
- The Platform Support Fee of RM0.50 will initially be deducted from each order upfront. Sellers will then receive a monthly reimbursement into their Seller Balance on the third week of each month
- Please note that where sellers miscategorise any product or item as an essential item, Shopee may still charge the Platform Support Fee for such miscategorised product or items at its discretion.

How to check the Platform Support Fee on the Seller Centre?
Sellers will be able to check the Platform Support Fee charged on the completed orders from the tax invoice accessible via Seller Centre > My Income > My Tax Invoices.

1. How is the Platform Support Fee different from the other fees?
Platform Support Fee which is under Service Fee supports platform development and upgrades for a better user experience, while the Commission Fee covers seller support services to help boost sales and buyer conversion. Transaction Fee covers payment gateway costs for completed orders.
There are also additional programme fees applicable such as Cashback Programme Fee which helps increase sales with buyer incentives like Coins Cashback and platform vouchers and Shopee LiveXtra Fee which boosts orders through enhanced livestream vouchers.
2. When will the new Platform Support Fee be effective?
The new Platform Support Fee rate of RM0.50 (excl. SST) will apply to all orders created from 16 July 2025 onwards.
- Essential items in line with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN)'s definition will be exempted.
- All orders under the Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) Programme, regardless of category, will also be exempted until the end of December 2025.
