- While sellers are advised under CPETTR regarding use of Bahasa Malaysia, please note that Shopee is rolling out an in-app dynamic translation feature, where sellers and buyers will be able to auto-translate their product descriptions to Bahasa Malaysia.
📢 Announcement
- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN) introduced the CPETTR 2024
- CPETTR 2024 is a set of regulations that govern online marketplace suppliers and operators, ensuring consumer protection in the digital realm.
In line with CPETTR 2024, sellers are required to:
- Disclose Seller's Information: Accurately disclose the seller's name / company's name, website address (if any), email address, telephone number, and business address on the online marketplace. This information will be displayed to buyers on the Shopee platform.
- Use National Language (Bahasa Malaysia): All seller information, product titles and descriptions shall be provided in Bahasa Malaysia (excluding brand names). Additional translations in other languages may be included.
- Provide Valid Product Certifications: For applicable products that have followed the standard of safety and health as determined by the relevant authority, provide / upload the corresponding certification details in your listing.
What should sellers do?
1. Disclose Seller's Information:
Sellers are advised to refer below for a guide on submitting your information to ensure your compliance with CPETTR 2024.
1. Go to Seller Centre > Shop Information > Shop Details
2. Fill up the necessary information in Bahasa Malaysia
3. Save filled content once fields are completed. This information will be displayed to buyers on the Shopee platform.
4. Fields that have not been filled in will be shown as "Unfilled"
5. A pop-up will appear if seller tries to leave the page without saving
2. Use National Language (Bahasa Malaysia) & Shopee's New In-App Dynamic Translations
📢UPDATE:
While sellers are advised under CPETTR regarding use of Bahasa Malaysia, please note that Shopee is rolling out in-app dynamic translation feature, where sellers and buyers will be able to auto-translate their product descriptions to Bahasa Malaysia.
Buyers will need to tap on the "Terjemah" button to view translated versions of seller's product descriptions. Refer to picture guide below:
Sellers who want to key in product titles and product descriptions in Bahasa Malaysia, can do so in the following manner. Enter the appropriate product name and select the appropriate category as shown below:

The following is an example of a non-exhaustive list of products that have applicable safety and health standards as determined by the relevant authorities. Sellers are reminded to exercise due diligence and ensure that the appropriate certificate details are properly provided / uploaded.
